Design for the renovation of this private condominium was completed as part of the total rehabilitation of the iconic Chase Park Plaza building in Saint Louis. Priorities were the display of the owners’ modern art collection, an abundance of natural light and meticulous detailing.

We took the unit’s potential – large windows, beautiful views and a structure that allows flexibility of interior walls – and arranged a series of varied and interconnected volumes with generous display surfaces and 270 degrees of view over the City and Forest Park. A steel and high-strength clear polycarbonate stair connects the first and second levels in a double height space next to the entry. Precise detailing of material transitions, cabinetry, automated window screens, lighting and mechanical systems creates an unobtrusive network of supporting elements.
